Pressed Cookies

In baking class we made pressed cookies. Our dough was soft enough to be pressed through the cookie press. The cookie press itself was really hard to use. The shape of the cookie turned out well. We had the right amount of fat and flour so it didn't spread. The main ingredients were flour, vanilla, and margarine. Pressed cookies are really quick to make because of the simple recipie.

Healthy Cookie Challenge

In baking class we did a healthy cookie challenge, where we got a recipie and we had to replace some of the ingredients with heatlhier choices. For our recipie we used strawberries instead of raisins and yogurt to balance out the fat in the cookie. If we were to make the cookie again I would add blueberries instead of the strawberries. The cookie wasn't one my my favorites but still fun to make.

Icebox Pinwheel Cookies

Yesterday we made Pinwheel Cookies . We did what we did with the Halloween Cookies where we did half of the recipe on one day and the next day we did the rest of the recipe. For the cookies we used vanilla and chocolate to put one on top of the other to roll to make the Pinwheel affect. We didn't roll out dough enough so the Pinwheel didn't turn out the way it should. The cookie itself was really good. We baked them on the second day so it was very quick.


Halloween Cookies

For Halloween our baking class made Icebox cookies. They were quick to make because they're refrigerator cookies. For the first day we just made the cookie dough and shaped them. We also made the icing and stored it for the second day; where we filled in the cookies with the icing and put a boarder around it. Our icing was thicker than usual so it made it a bit more difficult to do. Filling in the cookies was much easier. After the icing was on the cookie we took a toothpick to even out the icing. It worked really well. After it was filled in we took another toothpick and a different icing colour and dragged the toothpick through the icing to make it look like spider webs. They cookies were really fun to make. I would make then again.

Applesauce Brownies

I really recommend the Applesauce Brownies recipe. Instead of the fat we added the Applesauce. It made it a lot healthier. Brownies are a bar cookie. On top of the brownies we put chocolate chips which tasted really good. The brownies were pretty easy to make. The ingredients were pretty straight forward. The brownies came out really well.

 



Pizza Scones

In our baking class we made pizza scones. They were pretty good but if I was to make them again I would take out the onions. In the tomato sauce there was oregano, garlic powder, basil, parsley and a pinch of pepper. I really enjoyed the sauce. In the recipe we added green pepper and I have never tried that on a pizza before. I liked it more then I thought it would.

Peach Cobbler

A few days ago we made Peach Cobbler. Personally I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would, but I'm glad that we made them because now I know how to. It didn't take very long to make, the one problem we had was that we added a bit too much of the peach juice. To make the Peach Cobbler you have to put the dough on top of the peaches in small spoonfuls, as shown in the picture below.
